I remember when I moved into my first apartment, all by myself, with no one to cook for me. Although both my Mom and my Grandmother (who lived us) were both great cooks, well that knowledge just didn't seem to get passed down. Don't get me wrong, I learned a few things, but I still felt nervous and intimidated by cooking. When I was single, I ate cereal a third of the time, sandwiches the other third, and nothing the final third. When I got married the intimidation carried over a bit, ok a bunch. Lucky for me Dork could cook. Nothing fancy...but your basic got to eat kind of thing. Little by little, as we have been together, we both have improved our cooking abilities, and in our house cooking is more often than not a team effort. Mostly it's been trial by error, pouring over cookbooks, and making it up as we go along. It works...we haven't starved yet. When Quirky came along, one of things that I knew I wanted to do was get her in the kitchen, I didn't want my kitchen intimidation to be passed down. So when she began to show a spark...a tiny bit of interest, I grabbed the aprons and well, the rest is history. These are just a few of the recipes that we have made over the years.
